Maritime Scholarship Programs Basic Requirements

The primary objective of The Propeller Club of Manila in offering the Maritime Scholarship Program is Poverty Alleviation Through Skills Training and Development.

The Propeller Club of Manila's Maritime Scholarship programmes for Culinary and Fitter Machinist are open to both Male and Female candidates, aged 18-25 years old.

Applicants must be Year-12 graduates under Philippine skills training programme.

All applicants are required to sit an entrance-exam comprising of three components:

maritime scholars fitter machinistSuccessful applicants then undergo a full seaperson medical - to ensure that they will be fit for feature employment aboard.

Finally, all applicants are visited in their home to ensure that they come from a needy background. This is also a time to dialog with the parents, to explain the programme and the expectations that will result from successful training.

Parents are also briefed on what support they need to be able to give the candidate.

The Propeller Club of Manila Maritime Scholarship Program includes all tuition fees and required materials, as in occupational health and safety equipment, in addition to full-board and lodging during the training.

Daily transport is also provided for the student to and from the training facilities.
