Maritime Scholarship Programs
Ship Mechanic
The Propeller Club of Manila started its Maritime Scholarship Program in the early 1990s sponsoring a single student at the Don Bosco Technical Institute and a ship mechanic. Since then, with increased funding from corporate and individual Members, they have been able to slowly increase the number of scholarship to around 50 per year. A total of more than 700 have now been trained and placed aboard.
Ship Cook
In 2013, The Propeller Club of Manila was able to expand its Maritime Scholarship Program by starting a Culinary and Kitchen Management course, with training provided to the highest degree of international cuisine at The International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM), turning out graduates who can be immediately employed as cooks on board ocean-going ships.
